I know all those metalheads, fans of Metallica, are celebrating. For the new album “72 Seasons” of course! The band is giving one of their best performances; the thrashy riffs, the steady aggressive tunes, they are all here. The voice of James Hetfield is more powerful than ever, flirting with low frequencies as well, continuing to give you the vibration of the heavy punk attitude that they always put in their songs.
it’s an album that gives out tremendous energy, a concert album that the fans all over the world will enjoy. I don’t know if it’s the best album after the “Black Album” and frankly I don’t care. I am not one of those people who will take out measuring tapes… to measure what? The time? The place? The energy? The inspiration and ideas that the band had then and the ones they have now? Apples and oranges, my friends…
Every album gives you something unique. The “72 Seasons” album is a classic mature choice and we love it.
Constant headbagging mood on “Shadows Follow”, riffs to become in love with, drums we always like to listen, screaming along. “We are here bitches”!
Allegro and hard, that “Screaming Suicide”; probably the popular song of the album. It’s more rock than heavy.
I find the song “If Darkness Had a Son” thrashy-punk, with aggressive tunes that stick to your brain. An emotional temptation to listen to that song nonstop all day.
Now… the situation of the world in a heavy, moody song with the name “Sleepwalk My Life Away”. Do you dare to say otherwise? Also my personal favorite, cuz it gives me the original Metallica chills. The bass lines of Rob Trujillo and the riffs of Hammet and Hetfield are amazing. I can’t go further, guys. I will… in a while. I need to listen to that song a little more.
Naughty, rock, earthlier, the song “You Must Burn!” gives you balance.
Be adventurous! You have just entered the “Room Of Mirrors”. It will make your heart explode. Fast groovie beats, racing thrashy attitude.
Last but not least, “Inamorata” with the charming rock feeling, the heavy riffs, the cynical attitude of the lyrics, is my second favorite of the album. The eleven something minutes are a strong hold for me to take a step back and enjoy all the colors, all the auras of the song. It’s a pleasant journey with twists and turns, based on the classic volumes of the band.
What can I say about the album? I loved it!! It’s made by of the greatest bands on Earth; they know it and we know it, too.
