The boys are back with a brand-new album. “Something Wicked This Way Comes” was released by Frontiers a few days ago. The band Ten is here for us since 1995, opening their hard rock hearts, with their music, for us. This album is also a statement, a true heartfelt work with a bunch of melodies, fresh and classic. The lyrics are tendering our hearts. Yeah, you got me, I am a fan, and I will always be, a true fan of the music, of the visions of great bands and artists.
The album begins with “Look For the Rose”. Catchy melodies that make your heart melt. Your body dances to the rhythm and Gary’s incredible voice is the finishing touch. Like old wine, every time I find his voice more mature, more active, more beautiful.
Nasty rock sounds are catching my ears when “Brave New Lie” is revealed. I love that song. This is Ten. This is their music signature. You will recognize it from the first tunes. Energetic riffs, earthly and bombastic basslines.
“The Tidal Wave” flows in you like the air you breath. Emotional, strong and fresh, like a windy summer night. “Parabellum”,on the other hand, talks about war with a groovier and more sophisticated rock orientation.
I loved the melancholic mood on “Something Wicked This Way Comes”. It’s like a ballad at first and then it evolves, it grows from the hard rock music palette. Aggressive, as we like it, it’s ”The Fire And The Rain”. Like a jewel is shines everywhere. The riffs are making your mind travel into a whole new world!
Be careful ”When The Darkness Comes”, that song has the power to sweep you off your feet. You will find that with the ”The Greatest Show On Earth”, Ten have an epic hard and melodical rock experience to give. This is the last song of the album.
Solid production, a wonderful melodic journey, a great album!
Tell me again why we haven’t seen Ten in Greece? Just asking… (Sagka’s mastervoice: Well… You haven’t. Where were you?)
