Wacken Open Air Festival coming up July 30 – August 2, 2025

It’s almost time for the world’s biggest and best known metal festival in the world coming up with its 34th edition. From July 30 – August 2, 2025 the Holy Ground will see its eight stages being played by the following bands:

For the very first time after their reunion, Slash and Axl Rose will bring the “Night Train” called Guns n’ Roses to Wacken, playing a special show on Thursday night.

Machine Head and their massive thrash grooves are legendary for having the most and largest moshpits on the main stages, a much awaited return.

American Rock band Papa Roach has been around since 1993, yet it is their first time to the German north. Definitely not a “Last resort”!

Other bands include Saltatio Mortis, Gojira, Apokalyptica, Mastodon, Within Temptation, Dimmu Borgir, King Diamond, WASP, Saxon, MSG, Peyton Parrish, Beyond The Black, Dirkschneider, Ministry, Lita Ford, Floor Jansen, Fear Factory, Clawfinger, DAD, Grave Digger, Static-X, Obituary, Katatonia, August Burns Red, Obituary, Wind Rose, Brothers Of Metal, Tarja & Marko Hietala, Hanabie, Decapitated, Destruction, Celeste, Orange Goblin, Angel Witch, Dominum, Exhorder, Night Demon, Mimi Barks, Seven Spires, Clowns, Dool, Crownshift, Midnight, Soen, Boomtown Rats and so many more. Bring along your kids as the dinosaurs of Heavysaurus will teach them how to Rock n Roll! A special shout out and good luck to all international Metal Battle finalists flying in from all over the world.

Tickets are 333€ plus 33€ for the Access Pass per car or 66€ for camper vans or caravans. 85.000 tickets including the special camper facilities have long been sold out, however you may still get lucky at Wacken Ticket Center for a ticket swap with those who cannot attend.

Alternatively, and more comfortable if you are not into camping, Travelcircus offers tickets along with premium accommodation, breakfast and daily bus shuttle.

Either way, don’t forget to talk a walk to Wacken village to meet the very friendly locals and taking in the special peaceful atmosphere down the main road. Have a beer in the locals’ front yard and visit the legendary LGH club stage, including Lemmy’s statue and ashes. And since you are there, it’s an insider tip to stop by the local Wackenstore as it carries timeless merch not available on the infield.

Please visit www.wacken.com/en for more details.

Rain or shine – see you soon!
