I love Glenn Hughes and I watched this amazing band live on stage two years ago, at the Release Athens festival. Yet I initially fell in love with the band when the “Revolución” album was released, back in 2015, with John Corabi on vocals. So I was thrilled when I found out that he returned (sorry, mister Glenn) and I couldn’t wait to listen to the new album.

First song off the album, “Light ‘Em Up”, and my body wants to dance, wants to participate to the enormous rock fire, which is burning my ears. It’s a song for the party of your life. I am enjoying every minute, Corabi’s voice is magical, the guitars are rollin’ and the drums make you shiver.

“Times Are Changing”. I get that, but rock music will always be pure, breathtaking and sexy.

Doug Aldrich and David Lowy on guitars, with Michael Devin on bass and Tommy Clufetos on drums, are creating sparkles for “I Wanna Be Your Bitch”. Corabi is shaking the world with his voice. One will be singing and dancing at no time. That is the Rock music I love! The passion, the power, the mood!

Bikers all over the world, get ready to fall in love with “I’m Gonna Ride”. Well, it maybe makes sense if I say that this song is a Rock diamond and it’s my most favorite on the album so far. Classic Rock and groove essence, hard power Rock mood.

Groovy notes with Hard Rock attitude in “Back To Zero”. Force of nature! With “Way Back Home”, catchy rock melodies and lyrics and a musical journey for the fans. Full energetic, full old school Rock in “Take A Long Line”, with an essence of AC/DC and Aerosmith vibes. Try not to fall in love. You can’t! Riffs are bringing power over; drums are escalating and the bass is teasing. “My Way And The Highway” is another jewel on this album. Nasty, provoked and special. Michael is enormous here, he spits notes all over and he’s attacking our minds and souls.

Are you wondering if the new album has a ballad? Of course it has. “Love That’ll Never Be”, a song to keep you good company all those nights that your mind rolls to the past, to people and relationships that couldn’t make it. Emotional Rock on the way, guys! Be alert.

Last song of the album is “Take My Soul”. A western vibe song, with freaking perfect vocals. An attitude of southern music, that blends with Rock and lifts the senses up.

The “Light ‘Em Up” album is the best Rock album of the decade. They came, they played, they conquered. This superb band is full of energy and I believe that a new era will begin with this album. Just wait and see.

Oh, Santaaa, can you grant me a wish? I was a good girl all year long! Please, pretty please, bring The Dead Daisies to Athens for a full show! I will be a good girl for 2025, too.

Cross my Rockin’ heart!
