I love the power hard rock of the 80’s and 90’s. My most favorite songs are from that period. Nestor for me is a new acquaintance. I have only listened to the song “It Ain’t Me”, off their previous album “Kids In A Ghost Town”. That song was my favorite single for the year 2021. Why I didn’t listen to that album more… I don’t really know.

The album is starting with Freya Miller speaking the intro. “You are not so special… No one cares about you”. All those negative words and the electric music notes put chills in my spine. When the “We Come Alive” song begins and the charismatic voice of Tobias Gustavsson is in the air, my smile came back. Martin Frejinger on keys with Jonny Wemmenstedt on guitar, they are structuring a remarkable feeling. The drums are packed, full of energy. When I listened to “Teenage Rebel”, some images from my teens came to my mind. How easy it was then; to love, to be excited for the little things. How wonderful to feel free and that nobody could hurt you… This song finds your inner self, that little kid with all those dreams which never came true.  “Last to Know” is so Def Leppard style. It’s a remarkable ballad that inspires you. Tobias has a rich, emotional voice, that hits all the right notes, captivating the listener. It’s like I went back in time and I don’t want to return. The Swedish know exactly how to make us feel for the most of that album. The song “Victorious” has another energy, full rock passion, full of rhythms and catchy attitude. Are you heartbroken? Has your girl left you? No? It’s ok, I won’t judge if “Caroline” is the song you will love the most off that album. The catchy choruses, the feeling, the summer vibe, the hard rock… They are captivating the broken hearts. It’s all there, in a mix, just for you. Romantic and affectionate ballad; the song “The One That Got Away”. Trust your heart, open a bottle of wine, stand on the balcony and think about… Anything that your heart wants you to.

“Addicted To Your Love”; rock vibes, classic 80’s memories and an aura that is speaking to you. If you haven’t fallen in love with that album yet, this is your song to do so.

“21” and “Unchain My Heart” have more power. Hard rock with groovy steps and a dancing attitude. Last song, the “Daughter”.  Tobias’ voice at its best, evoking feelings with his lyrics about the special bond between a father and his daughter and the wonderful experience of watching a child grow up. The guitar solo is so vibrant, so magical.

The “Teenage Rebel” album of Nestor is your 2024 summer soundtrack. One of the best albums of the year. Deeply emotional, full of yesterday’s melodic music notes and a thunder that will sweep you off your feet.
